Sibelian’s interest in animals and their magical qualities probably comes from his grandmother who used to read the “Just So” stories to him when he was very young. The characters from this collection (Elephant, Crab, Cat, Camel, Whale, Leopard, Armadillo and others) seemed far more interesting and real to him than any of the human beings he was told about. The Jungle Book almost certainly cemented in the idea that animals are more real than people and now that the world has caught up with him (many people nowadays will answer if you ask them what sort of animal they are) he thinks it is time for the animals to show their true faces…
