Studio Mo
Morag Edward is a Scottish artist and writer living by the sea. Works with the rock formations and tree skeletons of the Scottish landscape while out roaming. Sketches the human body when indoors and claustrophobic.
Painter, artist, writer, imagineer, wheelchair access campaigner and coastal skiffer, Mo is also an ambassador for Edinburgh's Innertube Map; publicising the traffic-free cycle, pram and wheelchair routes around the city.
Mo specialises in community multimedia. She has worked on pieces for indoors, starting with an anime mural, then outdoors in 2008 when she designed an interactive outdoor fire sculpture for a community celebration, and again in 2010 with small fire sculptures for Hogmanay, set by the sea.
In 2009 Mo won the Highlands and Islands Short Story Competition, then published an illustrated collection of Scottish short stories. In 2010 Mo was one of the writers in ’26 Treasures’ at the V&A, part of the London Festival of Design. Mo was a guest author at the Edinburgh International Book Festival in 2009, 2010 & 2011, and will be back in 2012 with a new project.
